As the 119th Congress begins, the Association is actively engaging lawmakers to advocate for legislative proposals that drive business growth, workforce development, and overall operational efficiency. Our recent “welcome letter” to Congress highlights several key policy areas crucial to the success of our member companies, including:
Prioritizing the responsible use of non-compete agreements. We support reforms that allow the continued use of non-competes to protect trade secrets and investments while recognizing the need for additional restrictions for lower-wage employees.
Addressing employment-based immigration. We urge Congress to create a pathway to citizenship for DACA recipients and enhance support for international STEM talent, both of which are critical to business growth and innovation.
Empowering companies to implement effective DEI strategies. DEI initiatives are fundamental to securing top talent and ensuring global competitiveness. We advocate for public policies that empower companies to implement effective DEI strategies that drive success and economic progress.
Involving employers in decisions on AI regulation. The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence in the workplace requires informed policymaking. We encourage lawmakers to collaborate with employers before regulating AI, ensuring that policies align with the current and future state of technology.
Developing a national paid family and medical leave framework. A national framework must balance employee needs with business sustainability. We urge Congress to consider employer insights in crafting a program that benefits both workers and business.
Modernizing labor laws. Updating current labor laws is critical to fostering positive employer-employee relations. Federal labor regulations should encourage collaboration rather than adversarial interactions. We support reforms that provide companies with greater flexibility to engage with employees effectively.

Looking ahead: The Association is dedicated to advocating for policies that enable CHROs to build strong, resilient workforces. We will continue to work with lawmakers and keep you updated on key developments that may affect your companies.
