BEERG: Brexit Negotiation Success Uncertain as Little or No Progress Made

According to BEERG's most recent Brexit Briefing, the outlook for a successful Brexit negotiation between the UK and the EU grows dim as British leadership appears staunchly attached to preconceived notions of the nature and manner of the future negotiations.  A recent dinner between Prime Minister Theresa May and other power brokers from both the UK and EU revealed little has changed over the months with regard to how the Prime Minister perceives the negotiations will go.  The EU has different ideas.  BEERG points out that in the midst of promising UK citizens great gains without conceding possible losses, the UK has thus far failed to get the other side to see their point of view, to change their own attitudes accordingly, or to manage expectations—thus lowering the chances of a conciliatory process.  To read the full report, click here.
