House Hearing on Contractor Blacklisting Order Scheduled for Feb 26th

The House will hold its first hearing on the President's Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces Executive Order (a.k.a. blacklisting) next Thursday, delving into an issue that threatens to significantly disrupt the federal procurement process and impose a massive new administrative and reporting burden on contractors.  The hearing, which will be held jointly by two subcommittees of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, is aptly titled, "The Blacklisting Executive Order: Rewriting Federal Labor Policies Through Executive Fiat."  The executive order requires federal contractors to record and report any violations of fourteen federal labor laws either by themselves or their subcontractors over the past three years, and the data will then factor into the contract award process.  HR Policy Association has taken an active role in opposing the executive order in partnership with other large business groups and applauds House Republicans for wanting to take a closer look at this important issue.
