Biden Urges Employers to Help Employees Get COVID Boosters

The White House rolled out a new “Fall Playbook” for employers to help employees get updated COVID shots before an expected surge of virus variants this fall.

The Fall Playbook calls on business leaders to:

  • Help employees access updated COVID shots by hosting on-site clinics, providing information, and offering paid time off to get the shots;

  • Ensure employees know about COVID treatment options and how to access them; and

  • Improve indoor air quality across buildings by ensuring that all occupied spaces have been recently assessed and inspect ventilation, filtration, and air cleaning systems.

Going forward, it’s unclear when the President will declare the pandemic over. Despite the President’s announcement in a September media interview that the pandemic is over, the administration extended the public health emergency through January 11, 2023.
