House GOP Healthy Future Taskforce Unveils Affordability Agenda for Next Congress

The GOP Healthy Taskforce’s Affordability Subcommittee’s one-page policy agenda focuses on improving health care for employees, promoting innovation and transparency, and lowering costs though competition.

The GOP agenda includes a number of HR Policy recommendations the Association made to the Taskforce in February 2022, including:

  • Encouraging more portable health coverage that gives employees control over their health spending, while giving employers more options;

  • Removing barriers for employers to implement direct contracting, high performance networks, and centers for excellence;

  • Codifying the Trump administration transparency rules; and

  • Reducing outdated ACA paperwork mandates.

Outlook: The future of these recommendations rest in the hands of the voters and which party controls the House and Senate in 2023, but the Association is well positioned to drive policy should the GOP gain control.
