Center Study: Head of Total Rewards Role is Evolving to Trusted Advisor

A new study by the Association’s Center On Executive Compensation found that over the past decade, the Head of Total Rewards has transformed from expert technician to trusted and influential advisor in an increasingly complex role.

Our findings are based on member survey data and numerous interviews with Heads of Total Rewards, CHROs, and executive search professionals.

The Center study captures key themes around the areas of focus, critical relationships, breadth of experience and success factors for these leaders.

The study examines the requirements of this important role, and how shifts in the workforce and changes in employee expectations related to work continue to influence total rewards programs and the leaders responsible for designing them.
