Teresa Mello leads global compensation strategy at American Express, overseeing the design and management of executive and broad-based reward programs. Since stepping into the SVP role in September 2023, she’s driven initiatives to align compensation frameworks with business goals across regions.

She previously served as Vice President, Global Compensation at American Express, where she managed incentive plans and market benchmarking. Mello brings deep expertise in international equity and pay design, honed over more than a decade with the company.

Before joining American Express, Teresa began her career in compensation consulting. She is based in New York City.
