Gale Chang

Gale is senior vice president, associate general counsel and assistant secretary at Bank of America where she supports the boards of directors of Bank of America Corporation and the company’s two nationally chartered bank subsidiaries. She is responsible for the boards’ corporate governance, preparation of the company’s proxy statement, legal aspects of the company’s annual shareholders’ meeting and the company’s shareholder engagement initiatives. She is also a member of Bank of America’s Asian Advisory Council.
Prior to joining Bank of America, Gale served as assistant secretary at MetLife and as treasury/finance counsel and as a compliance officer at Merrill Lynch. Gale began in private practice as an attorney with Nixon Peabody in Boston and in New York, where she worked with private equity and public company clients on M&A and capital markets transactions.
She received her B.A. in History from Tufts University and her J.D. from Boston College Law School. She is a member of the Massachusetts and New York bars and serves on the advisory committee of the New York Chapter of the Society for Corporate Governance.
Gale lives in New York. She was born in Taipei, Taiwan and speaks Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese. She is an avid reader, novice baker and a fan of cooking and home improvement shows and British TV shows.
