President Trump Revokes Blacklisting Executive Order

March 31, 2017

This week, President Trump revoked former President Obama's Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces (a.k.a., Blacklisting) Executive Order and signed legislation to permanently block the regulations implementing the Order, precluding the FAR Council from ever publishing a similar regulation in the future.  When signing the bill, President Trump said: "When I met with manufacturers earlier this year, and they were having a hard time, believe me, they said this Blacklisting Rule was one of the greatest threats to growing American business and hiring more American workers.  It's a disaster, they said."  Over the past two years, HR Policy Association has helped lead the effort to overturn the rule because it would have undermined the integrity of the federal contracting process and denied due process rights to contractors.
