Spanning five cities in a fortnight, this week the American Health Policy Institute completed its 2015 Health Care Listening Tour, a series of interactive sessions designed to introduce HR Policy Association members to the Health Transformation Alliance (HTA) and receive membership feedback.  An innovative concept designed to transform employer-sponsored health care, the HTA is intended to accelerate change in the health care marketplace by combining the collective influence, interests and ideas of member companies.  Among the initial HTA initiatives will be:

  • Deploying programs to drive more effective and efficient pharmacy networks;
  • Developing innovative approaches to create high performing medical networks; and
  • Creating a vision to deliver a consumer-grade experience that more effectively engages employees in their health and their health care.
Association members who attended the sessions expressed overwhelming support for the concept and goal of the HTA: to collaborate with all interested stakeholders to create a new ecosystem designed to support employee health and deliver sustainable, high quality, affordable health care.  Although the Listening Tour has concluded, members can join the conversation on health care reform by becoming part of a private LinkedIn community.  To join, search for "Health Transformation Alliance (HTA) Discussion Groups" in the Groups section of LinkedIn.  The HTA will also be a key topic of discussion at this year's Washington Policy Conference, to be held September 10, 2015 in Washington, D.C.
