DOL Solicitor, NLRB Chairman to Address Fall Labor Relations Conference

October 01, 2010

Our annual Labor Relations Conference on November 9 in Washington, DC, will provide an early post-election outlook for labor and employment policy, as well as in-depth discussions of the most critical labor issues with which our members are grappling.  Among those addressing the conference--entitled "U.S. and Global Labor Policy in Tumultuous Economic and Political Times"--will be Department of Labor Solicitor Patricia Smith and NLRB Chairman Wilma Liebman.  The latter will appear on a panel with Harvard Economics Professor Richard Freeman and NYU Law professor Samuel Estreicher to discuss "Employee Needs and Wishes, Unions and the Law: Are They in Synch?"  In addition, panel discussions by representatives from member companies will focus on:

  • the impact of the new health reform law on labor relations;
  • corporate social responsibility and global labor strategy; and
  • social media and labor and employee relations.
