In her acceptance speech to the Democratic convention, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton zeroed in on themes that will dominate the fall campaign, calling for equal pay for women, "paid family leave," affordable child care" and a minimum wage that should be "a living wage."  Secretary Clinton also noted that "comprehensive immigration reform will grow our economy."  Most of the policy positions Secretary Clinton mentioned in her speech mirrored those in the Democratic Party platform, which also includes mandating employers provide seven days of paid sick leave.  Other notable provisions in the party platform included card check by simple majority and binding first contract arbitration, and issuing a model employer executive order to give a contracting preference to employers that provide their employees with a living wage, good benefits, and the opportunity to form a union without reprisal.
