BEERG: EU Introduces New Guidelines in Bid to Meet May GDPR Implementation Deadline

Amid concern that many businesses are not fully prepared for the May 25th implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the EU launched a website containing guidance seeking to "facilitate a direct and smooth application" of the new rules.  In terms of public policy, only Germany and Austria have yet made sufficient changes to their domestic laws for implementation of the GDPR.  As reported in the BEERG Global Labor Newsletter, the EU Commission says the guidance "outlines what the European Commission, national data protection authorities, and national administrations should still do to bring the preparation to a successful completion.”  Read the full BEERG Global Labor Newsletter here.
