The leadership of the Association believes strongly that labor relations is a core competency that every HR professional should hold.
As such, HR Policy Association sponsors its Labor Relations Professional Certification Program to train and certify HR professionals in the most critical aspects of labor relations. Those fulfilling the program’s course requirements receive a certificate from the HR Policy Association signifying the completion of the instruction.
The first session of the certification series, "Elements of Bargaining," is taught during a single 3½ day period. It comprises three distinct courses: Overview of the Law of Collective Bargaining; Developing the Negotiation Strategy—Planning and Preparing for Collective Bargaining; and Collective Bargaining Negotiations—Techniques, Contract Costing, and Simulation. Completion of the “Elements of Bargaining” course is a requirement for the certificate.
In addition, to qualify for the certificate, a candidate must complete the two one-day courses:
These one-day courses are taught separately from the “Elements of Bargaining” course. For those companies who sponsor the courses on an in-house basis, the participants completing those courses will be given the same credit as if they had taken the course in an open membership session.
